Jordan looking to buy Bobcats
Michael Jordan has stepped up his efforts to buy majority control of the Charlotte Bobcats from owner Bob Johnson.
Johnson is eager to sell the club, which has struggled financially ever since the city was awarded an expansion franchise.
Commissioner David Stern said he expects that someone else will purchase the team within the next two months, which shows how urgent Johnson is to move on.
Despite how much the team has struggled in Charlotte, it’s highly unlikely that Jordan would look to move it elsewhere.
Jordan grew up in North Carolina, so he would like to keep the team there. The NBA would love to have Jordan as an owner, so he would likely be approved if the deal goes down.
