In return, the Bobcats received center Joel Pryzbilla, whose contract is up at the end of the season.

Michael Jordan had made it clear over the past couple of months that he was looking to dump salary.

That said, the Bobcats have played much better under new head coach Paul Silas and pushed themselves into the playoff discussion.

This trade could certainly derail those playoff hopes, as the Bobcats just gave away their best player.

Charlotte Bobcats forward Tyrus Thomas will miss at least the next two months with a torn meniscus in his left knee.

Thomas had significant swelling in his knee during a shootaround before their game against Philadelphia.

He ended up being a late scratch for the game, and the team later had Thomas undergo an MRI.

He was averaging over 11 points and five rebounds per game coming off the bench, so his loss will hurt.

The Bobcats are still in the hunt for the final playoff spot, but this injury certainly damages those hopes.

Jordan and Brown have a tremendous relationship from their days together at the University of North Carolina.

The Bobcats are floundering in the Southeast Division and recently started listening to offers for their top players.

It will be interesting to see if Brown finally retires for good or if he can’t help himself and finds another coaching job.

It seems like the front office is finally resigned to blowing things up and starting all over again.

The team has started to gauge interest around in the NBA for Stephen Jackson and Gerald Wallace.

Some believe Charlotte will move at least one top player, but that their asking price is very high at the moment.

Both Wallace and Jackson would be a huge boost for a number of contending teams, so there should be plenty of trade interest out there.

After 44 victories last season, the Charlotte Bobcats came into 2010-11 with plenty of optimism.

But the early days haven’t been very pleasant for the Bobcats. Charlotte has started the season 1-5, dropping its first three games and since losing two in a row.

The first win of the season came Wednesday, an 85-83 victory at New Jersey. But a pair of losses this weekend continued the struggle for the Bobcats: a 97-90 loss Friday at Detroit, and a 91-88 loss at home Saturday to Orlando.

Stephen Jackson displayed some of the frustration bubbling under the surface for Charlotte, criticizing officials after the loss to Detroit. For his efforts, the NBA fined Jackson $50,000 on Saturday.

Charlotte looks to get something positive going on Monday when it plays host to San Antonio.

The Charlotte Bobcats have invited forward Darius Miles to training camp for a tryout with the team.

Miles was the No. 3 overall pick of the Los Angeles Clippers back in 2000, but his career has been derailed by injuries.

He never was able to live up to his full potential, which was partially caused by off-the-court issues.

This very well could be Miles’ final chance to make a comeback in the NBA, and I’m sure he is well aware of this fact.

Miles would seem like the exact kind of player head coach Larry Brown would want to avoid, but he does like taking chances on troubled players from time to time.

Brown was a huge failure with the Wizards, and ultimately Jordan was as well, although he won’t admit that.

The team ultimately traded Brown to the Los Angeles Lakers in a package for guard Caron Butler while Jordan was fired.

Maybe Jordan wants to prove that Brown wasn’t a complete flop and can be a valuable player in the NBA.

The three armed men entered his gated community filled with million dollar homes and stole a gun, a nice watch and an expensive wallet, along with other items.

The good news is that Jackson wasn’t home at the time, as he was in Texas for a basketball camp.

The bad news is that his wife was home at the time. She was forced into a bathroom but was unharmed.

There were no signs of forced entry at the house, and police have made no arrests in the case.

The deal gives the Bobcats a new starting point guard after Raymond Felton signed with the New York Knicks.

Evans is essentially just a throw-in and will see some minutes off of the bench.
