Bobcats trade Wallace to Blazers

The Charlotte Bobcats are set to clear significant payroll off of their books after dealing Gerald Wallace to the Portland Trailblazers.

In return, the Bobcats received center Joel Pryzbilla, whose contract is up at the end of the season.

Michael Jordan had made it clear over the past couple of months that he was looking to dump salary.

Silas to return as coach next year

Charlotte Bobcats head coach Paul Silas had his interim tag removed and will return to the team next year.

Michael Jordan said he is very pleased with the job Silas has done since taking over for Larry Brown.

The team went from being one of the worst in the Eastern Conference to now being in playoff contention.

Silas seems happy coaching for the Bobcats and is starting to finally get past his prior health scare. ( Read More…)

Thomas out two months

Charlotte Bobcats forward Tyrus Thomas will miss at least the next two months with a torn meniscus in his left knee.

Thomas had significant swelling in his knee during a shootaround before their game against Philadelphia.

He ended up being a late scratch for the game, and the team later had Thomas undergo an MRI.

He was averaging over 11 points and five rebounds per game coming off the bench, so his loss will hurt. ( Read More…)

Bobcats part ways with Brown

The Charlotte Bobcats have come to a mutual decision with head coach Larry Brown to part ways.

General manager Michael Jordan said he and Brown both came to an agreement that things just weren’t working.

Jordan and Brown have a tremendous relationship from their days together at the University of North Carolina.

Bobcats looking to unload players

After getting off to a disappointing start, it looks like the Charlotte Bobcats are ready to unload players.

It seems like the front office is finally resigned to blowing things up and starting all over again.

The team has started to gauge interest around in the NBA for Stephen Jackson and Gerald Wallace.

Bobcats invite Miles for tryout

The Charlotte Bobcats have invited forward Darius Miles to training camp for a tryout with the team.

Miles was the No. 3 overall pick of the Los Angeles Clippers back in 2000, but his career has been derailed by injuries.

He never was able to live up to his full potential, which was partially caused by off-the-court issues.

This very well could be Miles’ final chance to make a comeback in the NBA, and I’m sure he is well aware of this fact. ( Read More…)

Brown to join Bobcats

In the unlikeliest of moves, the Charlotte Bobcats have signed former No. 1 overall draft pick Kwame Brown.

It’s a surprising move given the fact that Michael Jordan, the team’s current owner and GM, decided to draft Brown.

Brown was a huge failure with the Wizards, and ultimately Jordan was as well, although he won’t admit that.

The team ultimately traded Brown to the Los Angeles Lakers in a package for guard Caron Butler while Jordan was fired. ( Read More…)

Jackson’s home robbed

Charlotte Bobcats star forward Stephen Jackson’s home was robbed by three masked gunman.

The three armed men entered his gated community filled with million dollar homes and stole a gun, a nice watch and an expensive wallet, along with other items.

The good news is that Jackson wasn’t home at the time, as he was in Texas for a basketball camp.

The bad news is that his wife was home at the time. She was forced into a bathroom but was unharmed. ( Read More…)

Bobcats trade Chandler to Raptors

The Charlotte Bobcats have traded center Tyson Chandler to the Toronto Raptors for Reggie Evans and Jose Calderon.

The Bobcats will also trade away Boris Diaw in what amounts to a three-way trade with the Phoenix Suns.

The deal gives the Bobcats a new starting point guard after Raymond Felton signed with the New York Knicks. ( Read More…)
